Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the College of Optometrists of Ontario has recommended to restrict eye care to urgent care cases only.
Your safety and well-being are of the greatest importance to us.
Our office will be restricting our appointments and hours accordingly.
It is our belief that we want to limit the number of patients that should be going to the emergency room at this time, so we want to help by seeing those eye emergencies when we can.
Please do not come to our office if:
You have tested positive for COVID-19 virus.
You have been exposed at any point to a person who has tested positive for COVID-19
You are feeling ill in any way (not just COVID-19) symptoms
You have returned to Canada from out of country and have not completed a 14 day period of self-isolation.
Please note, that all phone calls will still be answered in normal daytime business hours and triaged accordingly by Dr. Ruhl. As well, email requests/concerns can be sent 24 hours/day, 7 days a week, and we will attempt to return a message within 24 hours. (If a response is not received in this time period and /or this is an ocular emergency, then you should proceed to the emergency department for assessment.)
If an appointment is necessary, then Dr. Ruhl will arrange for the time for the appointment at the office. If a patient comes to the office, we request that only the patient comes in the office and please leave all family, friends, drivers, etc… outside the office unless the patient requires them for assistance.
All patients must wash their hands thoroughly upon entering the office for their appointment.
To those patients wishing to pick up glasses, we can possibly arrange a time (and place for pickup) via a phone call to the office.
At this time, contact lenses can be ordered as well. When possible, we will have the contact lenses shipped directly to your residence from the manufacturer. In other cases, we will attempt to deliver them to your house ourselves. We will arrange for payment when you call the office.
Thank you for your consideration in these difficult times.
